We started A Balanced Life Travel because of one breathtaking day off the coast of Aruba.
After decades in public service—long days, emotional demands, and little time for ourselves—we finally said yes to something different: an eight-day cruise to Aruba and Curaçao, including a sailing excursion in Aruba.
We didn’t expect the moment that changed everything to feel so quiet.
At first, we thought it might be watching our kids leap into the ocean to swim with sea turtles.
Perhaps it was the thrill of snorkeling through turquoise waters.
However, that moment came during the ride home.
As we sailed back, the kids stretched out in the sun, smiling and peaceful with the wind in their hair, and we realized something we had missed for years:
